Now more than ever, Americans are paying attention to what they eat. They’re placing an emphasis on food that is responsibly sourced, nutritious, and free of pesticides and other contaminants. Oh, and they’d also like it to be tasty. At B.Good, we get it. We know that food is one of the most important requirements the body has to sustain itself, so it should be good to eat and be healthy for you. That’s why we’re big on the farm-to-table approach. Farm to table restaurants are becoming an increasingly popular consumer choice on the fast-casual restaurant scene. They’re part of an overall trend in health, wellness, and localization in the food industry — and we’re proud to say, the farm-to-table approach has been a cornerstone of our own “Food with Roots” philosophy from the very beginning of the B.GOOD brand.
A Connection to the Food We Eat
Farm to table restaurants didn’t come out of nowhere. The movement really goes back decades, to a time when many Americans grew and raised their own food. People planted vegetable gardens and kept livestock, and relied on their own back yards to feed their families. Urbanization ended that way of life for most Americans, but it hasn’t diminished our appreciation of it, nor the important role it plays in maintaining a quality of life. People need to feel connected to the food they eat in a way that lets them be confident about its freshness and nutrition. And while the restaurant industry — and fast-casual in particular — is responding to this need, B.Good has been at the forefront among farm to table restaurants. We’ve been a big believer in the farm-to-table approach since we first began. In fact, it’s one of the reasons why we started the B.GOOD brand. We set out to transform the way people eat fast food, because we believe convenience and affordability shouldn’t rule out wholesomeness, nutrition, and sustainability. We don’t see any reason why a farm-to-table philosophy can’t be part of a fast-food approach, and our menus prove that.
Using What’s Fresh and Available
Farm to table means there is very little separation between the source of one’s food and the table it ends up on. That means whenever possible, we source our foods and their ingredients locally, and from the hundreds of farms, bakeries, and other vendors we’ve developed relationships with. Our menus are seasonal, which means they change to reflect what’s fresh and available nearby, depending on the time of year. Our menus are developed by our in-house chefs who are always working to create delicious, nutritious, and wholesome choices that appeal to a wide range of tastes. Not all farm to table restaurants can say that, and we believe it’s what sets us apart from the competition. It’s also why we believe an investment in a B.GOOD franchise is a smart move for anyone looking to capitalize on an important trend in the food industry.
In the end, everything B.GOOD does is informed by our four pillars of freshness: serve sustainably-sourced food, use in-season harvested ingredients, provide customers with scrumptious, healthy fare, and empower the community to make smart food choices. We’re committed to this, and have been since we first opened our doors.
